It’s official,  the many variations of the Bob haircut have taken the hair industry by storm!  Though the Bob haircut is a classic and always in style, the modern Bob trend started with the Pob, the sassy inverted “posh” bob worn by Victoria Beckham.

Next, we were introduced to the Lob, the at the shoulder,  one length, with the possible long layer, spin on the traditional bob.

After this, we started seeing the Fob, a traditional at the chin one length bob, with a blunt cut fringe.

And last, but certainly not least, is the most current, and popular of all our variations,  the Wob or wavy bob.
Worn originally by Jennifer Lawrence,  who had grown out last season’s pixie cut, the Wob is a very casual,  and low maintenance spin on this classic style.

This look is achieved by cutting a one length bob just below the chin.  Then texture shears or a razor are used to remove unnecessary bulk from the hair.  Once the hair lies closer to the head, point cutting or “piecing out” the ends of the hair creates that “shaggy” look.  Styling with curling tongs, or a curling wand leaving out the ends of the hair accomplishes the “flicky” tossed look.  This cut works for almost every face shape,  making the eyes and top of the face look wider and slimming the jawline.
Keep it casual this summer and go for a Wob, Lob, Fob, Pob or any other variation on this classic look. It will surely keep you on the cutting edge of style!
